Casa Patrizia is a newly renovated sunny apartment, perfect for 2 - 3. It is located about 20 steps from the Piazza San Michele in the geographic center of the city.
There is a canopy queen-size double bed, sofabed for an extra guest or child, full bath with with hydro-massage shower room and a guest bath. Open plan in design, there is a full kitchen and living area with sofa and flat TV with English language channels, DVD and CD player, complete with a selection of Puccini operas.
It is located on the European third floor, literally, 3 flights of low-rise stairs.
If you haven’t visited the Lucca area, you will find it to be a pleasant surprise. There is biking and walking on the road at the top of the Renaissance wall that surrounds the city. There are classical music and Puccini concerts in the church of San Giovanni Battista (around the corner from the Cathedral of San Martino) , every evening , featuring works of Mozart, Puccini, Verdi and other Italian composers (All of this, because it is the birthplace of opera composer, Giacomo Puccini). There is a great inter-city bus line that goes to all the nearby cities and towns such as Florence, Barga, Viareggio, the famous seaside resort town, Montecatini, famous spa town with thermal springs & Pisa.
July brings the Lucca music festival, including famous names such as James Taylor, Eric Clapton, Alisha Keyes, Nora Jones, John Fogarty and Crosby Stills & Nash to name a few, and of course, more Puccini opera. Next year’s concerts are to be announced.
September in Lucca is filled with a schedule of concerts, exhibits and street markets. September 13 is The Festival of Lights procession in honor of the “Volto Santo” (“Holy Face”) a famous crucifix in the Cathedral. The spectacular candle-lit streets of Lucca is the setting as the parade/procession of marching bands and church choirs of all the surrounding villages moves to the cathedral.
